As 2015 comes to a close, I continue to reminisce about the start of this Museum. June 1st 2000, a little over 15 years ago, was the official day that I started working in my pool house office, with seed money from our Founding Benefactor David Golden, as well as a collection of 250 works of art donated by CGR Advisors and David to start MOCA GA.
It was a daunting task, but as an artist myself it was my hope to create a museum in Atlanta that would support local artists and educate the public on the wonderful talent in our own backyard. It is hard to believe that we have come so far!
In this short time, I believe that we have truly changed the Atlanta art scene to focus more on local talent and we continue to create countless connections between artists and the community each year. It is thanks to supporters like you that this dream has been possible.
As the end of this year comes to a close, I hope you will consider contributing to the MOCA GA Annual Fund, which allows us to continue to bring the Museum's unduplicated services to the community.
